Gucci Mane took to Twitter to announce his sudden name change to Guwop, but quickly decided to change it back to Gucci Mane due to his fans negative feedback.
July 2nd I’m officially changing my rap name to Guwop and retiring the great Gucci Mane thanks Fans, for 8 years as Gucci now its Wop turn.
His fans quickly expressed their concerns and dislikes for the new name. It took Gucci Mane less than an hour to decide against his decision.
“I am officially NOT changing my name to Guwop it will officially stay Gucci Mane due to my Fans’ response.”
His upcoming mixtape Trap House 3: The Guwop Edition The project which he calls his “last trap album,” is set to hit iTunes on July 2 featuring the 2 Chainz-assisted single “Dirty Cup.”
Guessing Gucci Mane felt his name change would help his mixtape. Sorry Gucci Mane, better luck next time.
