#BerryFunny: @Facebook-ers Use @Walmart Campaign To Exile @Pitbull To Alaska!!

This is the perfect example of a social media campaign gone wrong.

I’m sure you’ve seen Pitbull’s  Energy Sheets advertisements, the caffeine-infused approximate of Listerine strips.

Well, Walmart announced on Tuesday that they would send the Cuban-American rapper Pitbull to the store location that received the most Facebook LIKES by July 15.

David Thorpe and Jon Hendren of Something Awful then started a campaign to #ExilePitbull to the most remote Walmart in America… #2711 in Kodiak Island, near the Alaskan coast.

So guess what happened?

Yep, The Walmart in Kodiak now has over 60,000 Facebook Likes – more than 10 times the population of the island.

Lmao!

I say Pitbull should go. He made the commitment, plus he won’t be needing much for his trip because according to a reddit user, this particular Walmart has everything a resident of Kodiak needs - snow shoes, bear repellant, and hunting gear.

“There’s also a HUGE Coast Guard base there, so I’m sure that the families of the service members will get a kick out of it,” the user wrote.

Fortunately, Pitbull has a sense of humor because he invited Thrope to join him when he’s there:
