#NewMusic: Rapsody – “Non-Fiction” Ft. Ab-Soul X Raheem DeVaughn
Rapsody holds it down for North Carolina, and she represents her people well. The incredibly gifted, versatile, humble femcee has generously blessed us with free projects previously; but alas, she is preparing to release her debut studio album next month eloquently titled The Idea of Beautiful.
To further build up the anticipation, Rapsody delivered her first single off the LP today called “Non-Fiction” – and her message in this track is exactly that. The first lady of Jamla Records speaks on her slick skills and abundant ambition, warning listeners that she’s about to “bubble like a kettle pop.” Rapsody invited fellow dope emcee Ab-Soul on board for the track, who spits a mean verse, alongside the powerful, yet simultaneously soothing vocals of Raheem DeVaughn. Production on the track is courtesy of Jamla Records’ founding father and producer extraordinaire, 9th Wonder. It’s soulful, it’s real, it’s art.
Hit the jump to take a listen to this ill collaboration and keep your eye out for The Idea of Beautiful, coming to digital and retail music stores near you on August 28th.
