Canada’s own ShaqIsDope is a 20 year old MC who was raised in St. James Town Community located in the downtown core of Toronto. Have you heard the saying “Exercise in the morning before your brain figures out what you’re doing?”  Well, there’s science behind that!  Exercising in the morning before breakfast can actually boost your fat burning by a whopping 20%!  New research has proven that exercising in a fasting state will help you burn up to 20% more body fat than those who exercised after eating; early morning exercisers also didn’t consume extra calories during the day, unlike their peers.  This research is suggesting that exercising on an empty stomach is optimal for fat burning.  You can read more about the study here.

After a multitude of high profile celebrity hacks–most notably the Associated Press (AP)–Twitter has finally taken steps to ensure users enjoy more security against would be hackers.  They’re following in the footsteps of Google and offering a two step verification process.  If you enable this feature, anytime you want to log into Twitter, you will have to enter a code that’s sent to your cell phone.  That way, hackers would need access to not only your password, but your phone as well.  You can enable this feature by logging and enabling it in your account settings.  It will not log you out or interfere with any apps you all ready have set up and are using.  Happy tweeting!

VH1 star and Hot 97 personality K. Foxx paid it forward in a big way this week.  Foxx partnered up with celebrity makeup artist & owner of the Teknique Agency, Tekoa Hash, to host the “Princess Project,” which surprised 47 senior girls at the Bronx High School for Writing and Communication Arts with makeovers from a celebrity glam squad and outfits for their prom.  Surprise guests also showed up to wish the girls well–including Yandy Smith, Emily B, Steph Lova, and Ms. Drama.  Said K. Foxx, “I created the K. Foxx Princess Project to uplift, inspire, and  to reinforce that hard work pays off. I was emotional seeing the looks on the ladies faces when they realize someone cares.”  Hash added, “The ‘Princess Project’ initiative afforded us the opportunity to enhance the self image of each of these young girls.  This day reminded them that hard work NEVER goes unnoticed.”  Congratulations, senior girls!  Keep up the good work–and thank you to K. Foxx and the Teknique Agency for reminding our youth that yes, someone cares–and yes, that hard work does pay off!

J. Lo’s makeup and style is always something steal inspiration from.  The bronzed goddess look she sports in her latest video is no exception; she looks ahhh-mazing!  Go bold or go home with yellow lips, a beautiful bronzed eye, and the signature J. Lo glow.  Here’s how to get the look yourself!

I personally like to start with the eyes first.  That way if there’s any fallout from the eyeshadow, you don’t have to worry about messing up your foundation.

Eyes:

• Fill your brows as necessary.  (Anastasia’s brow pencils and brow gels are the bomb.)
• Prep your lid with a primer.  (MAC’s Painterly or Urban Decay’s primer potions are my faves.)
• Apply a light color to the inner corner of your eye and lid.  (Try MAC’s Powerchrome pencil in Rich Glance)
• Use a shimmery bronze color on the lid.  (MAC’s Tan pigment would be amazing for this; so would the eyeshadow Mythology if you want to add a bit more color; MAC’s Powerchrome pencil in Copper Strip is also a great color; as is Amber Lights, Tempting, Mulch, Bronze or Woodwinked.  Urban Decay’s Naked palette also has great colors for this look.)
• Smoke out the outer corner with a fluffy blending brush.  Blend up towards the eyebrows.
• Lightly line the eye with a black eyeliner and blend a little.
• Smudge a tiny bit of the lid color along the bottom lash line.
• Finish off with mascara and/or lashes.  Don’t forget your bottom lashes!

To get Jenny’s gorgeous glow and look like  total goddess, try this!  I recommend a liquid foundation since Jenny has such dewy skin.  Powder is always going to give a much more matte look.

Face:

• Hydrate your skin!  Spray a little bit of MAC’s Charged Water and then follow up with moisturizer.
• Dab a little highlighter on the high planes of your face.  Cheekbones, bridge of the nose, center of the chin, and in the middle and above the eyebrows.
• Mix a luminizer in with your liquid foundation.  (My favorites:  MAC’s Golden Elixir Strobe Cream or Victoria’s Secret Pro Illuminator.)  Apply as usual.  (My favorite way is with a wet Beauty Blender sponge or a MAC 187 brush.)
• Apply a bronzer or a blush like MAC’s Sunbasque, slightly under your cheekbones, letting the highlight show through.
• Set areas you may be oily with a tiny bit of powder.

The lips are by far my favorite part of this look!

Lips:

• Apply Lime Crime’s New Yolk City lipstick.
• Pat MAC’s Goldmine eyeshadow over it to up the amp.

Set your look with a finishing spray, and glow baby glow!
